La Maison Franco-Japonaise is a nonprofit, nongovernment organization established in 1924 with an aim to facilitate the promotion and exchange of France-Japanese culture and scholarship. It was founded on the initiative of Eiichi Shibusawa and Paul Claudel and carries on the spirit of the France-Japanese cultural accords.
The House is a private, non-profit organization incorporated, with support from the Rockefeller Foundation and other private institution and individuals, in 1952 for the purpose of promoting cultural exchange and intellectual cooperation between the peoples of Japan and those of other countries.
The Grew Bancroft Foundation is an organization which provides scholarships every year to select graduates of Japanese high schools to study for four years at reputable liberal arts colleges in the United States. These scholarships do not have a repayment duty. The Foundation provides various forms of additional support for the recipients of the scholarships.
Founded in 1855, Elmira is a liberal arts boarding school in upstate New York. We have been exchanging students back and forth since 1978. To date, Nichibei has sent over 80 students there. Contact us (info@nichibei.ac.jp) for more info.
The Centre is part of the University of Alberta in Canada. In full support of the Centre’s objectives, we back its numerous activities including the annual Prince Takamado Essay Contest.
Since March 2009, ILCF, J.F. Oberlin University and the IEC/Nichibei have been in an educational exchange agreement. Based in Paris, ILCF holds a four-week French seminar every August. Japanese students and business people alike have attended the seminar.
Seamless is an interpretation and translation services agency run by an alumna of Nichibei (the Conference Interpreting School). It provides job placement services for our students and alumni.
