Lesson 1 What is a key currency and can the US dollar maintain its hegemonic status?
The dollar remains the strongest reserve currency in the post Bretton-Woods period, though not without challenges. We will discuss whether the Dollar's status can continue to be dominant, and what the rise of the euro, renminbi, and digital currencies would mean to the dollar's future.

ブレトン・ウッズ体制が終焉した後も、ドルは最強の準備通貨としての地位を維持している。ユーロ、人民元、デジタル通貨などの挑戦を受けているドルが今後も最強であり続けるのか、その見通しを考える。

Lesson 2 Where is the world economy heading?
The world economy has gone through difficult phases in the past few years, with negative impacts including from COVID pandemic, wars in Ukraine and Gaza, high inflation and monetary tightening, and a slow-down in China. We will look at the latest outlook, both baseline and risk scenarios, based on the views of major international organizations.

新型コロナ危機、ウクライナ・ガザでの戦争、インフレ上昇と金融引締め、中国の減速等、過去数年の世界経済は難しい局面にあった。今後の見通しのメイン・シナリオとリスク要因について、最新の国際機関の見方を紹介する。

Lesson 3 What caused past financial crises and will there be one in the future?
We will survey several international financial crises in the past and consider their common factors, if any. While various measures crafted and adopted by the international community to resolve and prevent crises have been effective, at least to some extent, there is no guarantee that major crises will never occur in the future.
第3回 金融危機はなぜ起こるのか？
過去に発生した大規模な国際金融危機を概観し、それらに共通する要因を考えた上で、これまでに国際社会が採ってきた危機の解決策や予防策の実効性を評価する。さらに、今後の危機再発の可能性について考える。
使用教材：主要英米誌等の記事やコラムを適宜指定します。

宮崎 成人
1984年東京大学法学部卒業、1988年英オックスフォード大学にて国際関係修士号(M. Phil)取得。
1984年大蔵省（現・財務省）入省。主計官、国際機構課長、副財務官などを歴任。欧州復興開発銀行（EBRD）日本理事室、金融安定化フォーラム（FSF）事務局での勤務を経て、2008年～2016年国際通貨基金（IMF）アジア太平洋局および戦略・政策・審査局審議役、2017年～2021年世界銀行駐日特別代表。ロンドン、バーゼル、ワシントンなどで通算17年間海外勤務。2016年より東京大学大学院（総合文化研究科）客員教授。現在、三井住友信託銀行顧問。著書に「教養としての金融危機」（講談社現代新書、2022）。
